Traveling with Pet Animals

Check this section if you are travelling with your precious pet!

Pets, excluding rodents, cold-blooded animals, and animals with deadly poison
Position can be transported in the cargo compartment of the same flight as the owner.

※ Currently, the transportation of pet animals is restricted
in A320/A321 as no oxygen is supplied to the cargo compartment of the planes travelling between Korea and the Philippines.
Check the aircraft model in the schedule before requesting for the service.
(Even in case of A330, it may be limited if systems such as oxygen supply/temperature control are not available.)

- All breeds of Brachycephalic or mixed breeds of snub-nosed dogs is not be accepted for
transport as cargo on all PAL domestic and international flights.

How to Use

Must use the same flight as the passenger who is over 12 years of age.
Required documents

Refer to the Philippine Embassy’s homepage for details.

  • Health Certificate in English
    (In case of Korean, Apostille is required after notarized translation)

  • Vaccination Certificate in English
    ※ Microchip implant required

  • Entry Permit

Prepare all documents and call Philippine Airlines at least 48 hours before departure date and ask whether your pet animal can be transported with you.
If possible, then request for Pet Animal Transportation Service.

  • Container Size
    (Length / Width / Height, cm)

  • Total weight including animal
    + food + container

The passenger must obtain a quarantine certificate with required documents at the quarantine station of the airport of departure before checking in.

※ For operating hours and visiting hours, contact the quarantine station and check in advance.

Charges
  • Pay at the airport of departure

  • Charges for a minimum of 5kg is applied

  • If the weight exceeds 5kg, additional charges are applied to traveling sector
    (Charges vary by sector)

Other Information
  • One container is required for each pet animal
    (Exceptions: Cat or dog under 10 weeks, must be lighter than 20 pounds)

  • Pet animals are not allowed in the cabin

  • Some airports may refuse
    to transport animals.

The above applies to flights leaving from Korea to the Philippines only. Rules may vary depending on the country of arrival.

Inquire to the embassy or animal quarantine agency of the country of arrival personally to check quarantine conditions.
