Change / Refund policy

The following shows how to request for a refund and to change flights.

Refund of Ticket

Applicable Tickets All tickets issued in Korea (Both Unused and Partially/ One-way Unused ticket)
Refund Sector All international flights between Korea and the Philippines
How to Request for a Refund Tickets can be refunded from the place of purchase. Please make inquiries to the place of purchase for cancellation of ticket and refund.
Deadline for Request Request within one year and thirty days from the date the ticket was initially issued

Penalty and Service Charges for International Flight Ticket Refund
  • A penalty is applied according to the fare rules of the purchased ticket.
  • For a conjunction ticket for sectors between Philippines and other countries, a penalty is applied to each sector.
  • For a conjunction ticket combined with domestic lines of the Philippines, additional penalty is applied to the refund for domestic flights.
  • Exemption from Penalties(However, The fees incurred due to penalties such as reissuance or no-show etc,. cannot be refunded)
    • When the cancellation is not attributable to the customer (Ex. More than 2 hours Schedule Change, Cancellation of Flight, Death of immediate family, COVID 19 Patients, etc.)
    • When the refund request is made within working hours (~17:30) of the date of purchase
  • Unused taxes will be refunded in full amount without fees.
Penalty for Refund by Time of Refund Request
  • Enforcement Date: March 23, 2019 (based on the date of ticket issue)
  • Penalty Imposed on : Those holding international flight tickets from Korea to the Philippines (separate rules apply to group tickets), ticket applying through fares for flights from Korea to multiple locations in the Philippines

  • Exemption : Conjunction tickets combined with international sector fares, single tickets for domestic and international flights from the Philippines
    Separate fare rules are applied to flights departing from the Philippines

    ※ If the flight leaves on Sunday, you must request cancellation within working hours before 17:30 on Friday to avoid NO SHOW FEE.
    (Philippine Airlines Seoul Office Hours: Monday ~ Friday (excluding holidays) 09:00~17:30)

  • Cash Purchase : Only refunded to the person indicated on the ticket or his/her agent
    • Documents required for refund to be made to the account requested by the agent
    • Power of attorney prepared by the passenger
    • Passenger’s identification card with photo
    • Agent’s identification card (or passport)
  • Credit Card Purchase : Refunds will not be provided in cash, and the cancellation of payment will be dealt by credit card companies in accordance with the company’s regulations.
    • Date of refunds may vary depending on the settlement date / and settlement cycle of the company. Please check with the credit card company after the refund is approved.
  • Refund Processing Period: Approximately 2~4 weeks
    • Cash Purchase : Deposited to the account after approximately two weeks
    • Credit Card Purchase : Transferred to the credit card company in approximately four weeks, additional time required for credit card companies to settle and process the payment
  • Refund Amount
    • Entirely Unused : Amount paid for the ticket excluding refund charges
    • Used for One-way : Amount paid for the ticket excluding the fare for one-way flight on the date of departure and refund charges

    ※ Refund charges may differ from the ticket you purchased. Please check the refund conditions applied to the ticket when you purchase the ticket. Also, if you do not cancel your reservation before 24 hours of departure, additional charges may apply.(Except for weekend and holiday)

Change Ticket

How to Request You can change the ticket at the place of purchase. Difference in fares and different cancellation rules may apply due to sales price and place of purchase. Please contact your agency.
Rules Applied
  • Different conditions are applied to ticket changes according to the fare rules applied to the ticket you purchased. You may check the fees for reissue and difference between fares through the place of purchase.
  • If you do not request for cancellation of a confirmed ticket within 24 hours before the departure, a no-show penalty will be applied according to a separate regulation.
  • You must request for change within the valid period of the ticket, and no changes can be made after the valid period.
